In order to mark the 100th anniversery of the publication of James Joyce's Ulysses in 1904 the Context Gallery began a series of exhibitions , beginning in 2002 and culminating in 2004 with a performance by Amanda Cougan celebrating the role of Molly Bloom.This painting depicts the young Stephen Dedalus, wearing a snot green suit in the brothel scene where he meets Leopold Bloom.
