Biography
I was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1961 and continue to live and work there.
I graduated from UCD in 2005 with an Honours BA in History of Art. Prior to this I was self-taught as a painter and have been exhibiting since I was seventeen years old.
By good fortune, on finishing UCD, an opportunity arose to enter the Fine Art faculty of Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology
(IADT). IADT had upgraded its three-year diploma/ordinary degree to a four-year honours degree. In the interim years, a one-year course that upgraded the diploma was available and I was accepted onto it.
It is now ceased as all art students now embark on the four-year degree course.
This was a very happy and productive year for me. Since then I have taught at Dublin VECs and NCAD
as well as painting and exhibiting and taking up residencies.
