Emma Reclining. as source material. Painting and drawing the figure from life keeps me in touch with the true colour and nature of flesh, which can be distorted in photographs. It also forces me to learn to work fast and be decisive about where I make my mark, whether in oil, acrylic, pastel or pencil.
